Lajuana Martinez has more than 25 years of experience in sales, advertising and marketing across Southeastern New Mexico and Texas. The Hobbs native holds a degree in business from Eastern New Mexico University and is the proud founder of Ad Venture Marketing, which was recently named as one of the “Top Five Advertising Agencies” in the state of New Mexico by the New Mexico Business Weekly.
Lajuana currently resides in Texas, but she spends a lot of time in New Mexico and her monthly gasoline bill as she visits the communities in Southeastern New Mexico is almost singlehandedly responsible for the area’s oil and gas boom.

Staci GuyFocus on Artesia Editorial Director
Staci Guy was born and raised in Artesia and graduated from Artesia High School in 1997. She moved back in 2005 after the birth of her son. She says she returned home so her children could be raised in the City of Champions and grow up around family.
Staci is also a proud Red Raider, having graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in public relations with a minor in marketing. She’s spent several years in the newspaper business, and she also previously worked in donor recruitment for a large blood bank in South Texas. That does not mean she’s a vampire, though that’s what her friends and family sometimes lovingly refer to her as.
Most recently, Staci worked as a marketing director at NMSU Carlsbad before opting to stay home to devote more time to her family – a husband of 11 years, an 8 year old son, a 2 year old daughter and a black lab yet to realize she's not human. When she’s not putting together Focus on Artesia, Staci enjoys crafting, reading, gardening, child-chasing and attending live music events with her husband. She’s recently developed a slight addiction to Pinterest.
Kyle MarksteinerFocus on Carlsbad Editorial Director
Carlsbad resident Kyle Marksteiner has a bachelor’s degree in sociology and communications from Trinity University in San Antonio.
He’s spent most of his more than 15-year professional career in Carlsbad, where he’s worked in every media medium imaginable. Kyle spends most of his free time following his daughter Amelia around and picking up abandoned chicken strips. He’s learned a lot more about Disney’s princesses than he ever planned to learn.
Kyle loves writing for Focus because it is a chance to professionally ask questions about interesting things going on around town that have caught his curiosity, and because he really enjoys writing puns in headlines
